University Project - The American Way (Mission Design)

A Level Design/Mission I created in UE4 for a first person shooter.

Skills Developed: Level Design, Mission Design, UE Visual Scripting.

Project Brief:

This project tasked me with using preset enemies and mechanics and using those to craft a mission.

Project Idea:

I wanted to set this mission in a wrecked cityscape, where the player is tasked with finding and arming a bomb which malfunctioned upon falling in a city overrun with zombie arachnids.

The mission can be broken down into 2 segments:

- The player makes their way through the city to the bomb, fighting enemies along the way.

- The player defends the bomb as waves of arachnids swarm the player and the objective. Once completed, the player attempts to exfiltrate but is ultimately betrayed, in order to be used as a martyr for military recruitment.

This was one of my earliest creations in university, and I wanted to show it as an example of my evolution as a multi-practice game designer over time.
