University Project - Crossing Paths (Mission Design)

A group project I participated in during my master's, where we were tasked with creating 3 joint missions.

Skills Developed: Level Design, Mission Design, UE Visual Scripting.
 

Project Limitations:

 

- We could not alter the core mechanics, only add new ones.

- The levels had to be between 10-15 minutes long each.

Project Inspirations:

We wanted to make a level inspired by Resident Evil 2 and 3, in which interconnected events would occur between the missions and give context to the level design and mission objectives the player was tasked with.

I wanted my specific level to be split between 3 distinctive moments:

 

- An above-ground introductory moment, in which the player grabs a gun and faces or avoids their first enemies.

- A stealth/horror section where the player has to fix an elevator in the sewers, stalked by an unkillable roaming monster.

- A "hold out" section where the player has to stay alive while a generator boots up against hordes of enemies.
